WHERE TO FIND OUR ANIMALS Interested in adopting a cat or kitten from Milton-Freewater Humane Society? You
may see our most adoptable cats at Petco in Walla Walla on the third
Saturday and Sunday of the month from 11 am to 5 pm. Call
Lyla Lampson at (541) 938-4711
if you would like to come see a particular cat at times other than when
we have them at Petco or other adoption events. Lyla will return your
call as soon as possible to arrange a time that
will work for both parties. ADOPTION PROCEDURES
You will be asked to fill out an application form and will be
informally screened. This is so we can try to make sure we are making a
good match for both the adoptor and the cat, kitten or dog. An adoption
fee will be collected. ADOPTION FEES
Adoption fees for cats is $35 with two for the price of one to
the same household, as kittens are happiest with company, but we charge
more if the cat or kitten is highly desirable. All our animals are
spayed or neutered, and have current vaccinations. We
provide a cardboard carrier for transportation of the cat to your home,
though if you bring your own pet carrier you save us money to help more
cats in the future. RETURN POLICY
If for any reason the cat does not work out in your household, or gets
sick soon after adoption and you cannot or do not want to pay for the
vet care, we ask you to kindly return the cat to us. Depending on the
circumstances we may choose to return your adoption fee. We love each
and every animal we adopt out, and we definitely want them returned if
things do not work out. We work very hard to find homes for all our
cats or will keep them permanently if we are unable to place them,
unlike many shelters.
